Physical Therapy

Who can benefit from therapy services (PT): Developmental delay, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, down syndrome, neuromuscular disorders, orthopedic conditions, pulmonary disorders, brain injury, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, burn injuries, autism spectrum disorders and other chronic disorders.

Focused on helping children of all abilities manage and improve their physical health and functioning. Physical therapists can work with children and families to promote greater independence, improve motor function and development. Physical therapists specialize in movement, they help to improve quality of life through hands-on care, client education, and prescribed movement.

The role of the physical therapist is to assist in improving, restoring, and maintaining musculoskeletal function. They help with range of motion deficits, joint mobility, muscle tone dysfunction, gait abnormalities, balance, coordination, gross motor movements, transfers and endurance.
